Mouth Guard For Sports
We know that many of our patients participate in sports and other physical activity. Having braces on should not change that, but we do want to take that extra step to ensure that your braces and mouth are protected during any sports activity. To do this we strongly recommend that any patient currently in braces wears a sports mouth guard when competing in any kind of sport.
Not using a mouth guard can have drastic results on treatment. Should an accident occur, treatment can be delayed due to damage. Not to mention how painful it could be for the patient.
To make it easier on you, E&S offers special mouth guards designed especially for patients with braces in office for just $15. If you participate in any sports of physical activities then we strongly recommend you purchase this mouth guard.
The best part? You can now order it online here: www.esorthodontics.com/shop/mouthguard/
The first 10 people to order will receive FREE SHIPPING. Go ahead and order now 🙂
Tips For Sore Teeth
While orthodontic treatment has come a long way from the days of painful tightening adjustmetns, we understand that you may experience some discomfort especially following your regular appointments. This is completely normal and should be an expected part of the process. As your teeth move, sore and wiggly teeth may occur.
Recently we asked one of our clinical assistants what they suggest when patients experience this discomfot, and the advice they give is first and foremost to not baby your teeth.
Sticking to a liquid diet or a diet that requires little or no chewing may seem like a great solution, however by doing so you are causing discomfort to go on for a longer length of time and even be more intense. Our clinical experts recommend that you eat soft foods that still require chewing such as mac-n-cheese or mashed potatoes (yummy!).
Keeping your teeth actively chewing will help shorten the duration and intensity of the discomfort.
If all else fails, you can give the patient anything you normally would to treat aches and pains. As always, you can give our office a call if you need further assistance.
