Today I’m going to talk to you about some of the things that an orthodontist can do to help prevent your child ever needing painful expanders fitted, or gum and jaw surgery, and to give them that Hollywood smile.
Now this may seem almost counter intuitive, considering I make my living from carrying out orthodontic treatments like those, but I want you to understand that my goal is not to make money but to be a GREAT orthodontist.
Let me explain…
…To be a great parent, sometimes you have to discipline your kids, sometimes you have to say no. No they can’t watch that late night TV show; no they can’t have ice cream for dinner… You get the picture…
A good parent understands that routine and discipline are a part of being a ‘good parent’, no matter how hard it is. We all know it’s painful to do so especially with those cute, begging and loving eyes staring back up at you.
As an orthodontist, a good orthodontist, my goal is not to extract teeth or to use antiquated headgear and expanders to help straighten your teeth. It’s to take all the steps necessary to prevent your child from needing those types of treatments in the first place.
You see, a great orthodontist has done their job when they have seen a patient from a young age and fitted braces to avoid having to perform tooth extractions, gum and jaw surgery, or having to use expanders and antiquated headgear to give your child the perfect smile.
And that’s exactly what I want to do by inviting you along to one of my free screenings.
I want to be a ‘Good Orthodontist’, just like you want to be a good parent.
But I know you’ve got concerns. You’re probably worried about exactly what we do if we find a problem?
Well that’s a great question, thank you for asking.
Here’s the great news. Because of the great technology we have, we can do what’s called a ‘panoramic x-ray’ which gives us a view of your child’s teeth that your dentist would never have been able to see.
This view will enable us to see if your child needs to have painful expanders fitted, jaw and gum surgery, or any teeth extracted. If so, then we can fit braces to ensure that none of those procedures will need to be executed. The braces alone will be able to do the job and provide your child with a perfectly straight and beautiful smile.
As you can see, this is just one simple treatment available to help with one simple problem that can easily be detected in a screening.
So here’s what I suggest you do right now. I suggest you use the form beside this video to schedule an appointment to see me. That way I can have a quick look at your child and see what I can do to help.
Your child’s oral health is worth it, and you could wind up saving thousands on orthodontic treatment in the future.
