What Happens At Your First Orthodontic Appointment | E&S Orthodontics

At E&S Orthodontics we know that everybody deserves a healthy, wide beautiful smile! There’s no one better to help you achieve that smile than our orthodontic specialist and his team of professionals that can make it happen. We understand that each patient’s smile is different, and we want to give you the best smile for you. It all begins with your orthodontic consultation.

The Consultation

Your initial consultation will last about an hour. During your consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to meet your Phoenix orthodontist and their staff. You’ll be welcomed into the office by one of our friendly team members who will get you checked in for your visit and make sure all necessary paperwork is completed. Once you are checked in you’ll receive a tour of our state-of-the-art facility.

A team member will take complimentary photos and x-rays for review with the Orthodontist during your exam. If you have previous records that were taken at another orthodontic office the team can request those records, at no additional cost to you. You’ll receive a thorough, one on one, oral examination by the Dr. and together determine what treatment the Dr. is prescribing to best meet your orthodontic needs.

The Preliminary Exam

The goal of the initial exam is to find out more about your orthodontic state. A friendly team member will take photographs with a digital camera, followed by a panoramic x-ray and lateral ceph. This will provide the orthodontist with a clear picture of your orthodontic health. Next, the orthodontist will perform a thorough examination. Based on their findings during the process, they’ll make a diagnosis and provide you with a treatment plan.

Review Your Treatment Options

The orthodontist will discuss with you what your treatment options are, explain each one in detail and answer any questions that you may have. Once you’ve decided on a treatment plan, you’ll sit down with our wonderful treatment coordinators and go over your available financial options. The treatment coordinator will do a complimentary benefit check to see if your dental insurance covers any of the recommended treatment that the Dr. prescribed. Any additional cost can be split into affordable monthly payments that work best for your budget.

What’s Next?

After your initial consultation, if the Dr. feels that you are ready for your orthodontic treatment to begin, we can get you started that same day. This appointment generally will take about an hour to place braces and go over your care instructions. First, your orthodontist will clean and dry your teeth. Next, bonding glue/resin is applied. This is used to attach the brackets. During the process, a back-office assistant is usually nearby to ensure that you remain as comfortable as possible. Once your braces are placed the assistant will go over your care instructions.
We believe in giving each patient the best smile they can possibly have. Take the first step to getting that wide beautiful smile and call today to schedule your initial orthodontic consultation.
